Barnala: In Barnala, Punjab, a Sarpanch candidate climbed on a water tank with a petrol bottle in protest against the rejection of his nomination papers. This incident is from Cheema village of Shehna block, where Sarpanch candidate Niranjan Singh has climbed on the tank. His supporters are protesting against the government and administration under the tank.
Protester Niranjan Singh said that, he and his wife Sarabjit Kaur have filed nomination papers for Sarpanch. But in political influence of the opposition candidate, their nomination papers have been rejected by the Returning Officer and other officials of Shehna block.
He said that he is being accused of occupying panchayat land to cancel his nomination, which is wrong. He has filed a formal affidavit in this regard. He demanded that his rejected nomination paper should be restored and he should be allowed to contest the election. He will continue his struggle until he gets justice.
