After the CM’s ex-post regarding the campaign against ferocious stray dogs in Punjab, Punjabi and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood have now come forward to save the dogs. Sonu Sood shared a video on his Instagram and said that dogs should not be killed.
Sonu Sood, who hails from Moga in Punjab, said that he will try to get shelter homes built for the dogs. Sood said that if we talk about loyalty, it is the dogs that show us loyalty. There are many such stray dogs whom families adopt, take care of, and they are not that harmful, but there are also many incidents where these stray dogs have attacked children.
In those neighborhoods, near those houses, people know which dogs are capable of causing harm, and then we file a complaint about them and they are caught. Sonu Sood said that there is a very loyal community roaming on the streets. We forget them and an order is passed that you should catch and kill them. So my request is that we need to stop this order and get as many people as possible to adopt stray dogs.
Put a collar on their neck so that it is known that this is your dog that you care for, that you feed. So I think if we raise our voices together, many voiceless beings will get a voice and a new life.
It should be noted that on the night of May 21, CM Bhagwant Mann posted about stray dogs, in which he wrote that a campaign would start in Punjab from May 22. This led to protests from Punjabi film industry members to politicians.
BJP leader and National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Tajinder Bagga, wrote an email to the Chief Justice, while Punjabi actors Sonam Bajwa, singer Rupinder Handa, and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu raised their voices against killing the dogs.

We learn loyalty from dogs – Just this morning I saw a tweet in which our honorable CM of Punjab had given an order to catch all the roadside you know dogs. I don’t know what will happen to them after that. I have seen many videos which were very disturbing. What I want to say is that humans can only write books, but when it comes to loyalty, it is dogs from whom we learn loyalty.
There are many such stray dogs that people adopt, take care of, and they are not that harmful. There are also many incidents where these stray dogs have attacked children, and in those neighborhoods near those homes, people know which dogs can cause harm, and then we file a complaint about them and they are also caught.
I don’t know what will happen to these dogs because of this order: imagine a situation where the court passes an order saying that every dog sitting in every street and neighborhood should be caught and killed, taken away, and who knows what else might happen to them? So I would request all of you to spread this message to as many people as possible so that we can stop it.
I am doing my best to ensure that these stray animals or dogs can find a home. I feel that the government should build many such homes where even these voiceless creatures can get a home.
