Punjab BJP Chief Vows to Wear Black Turban Until Anti-Drug Activist’s Family Gets Justice

Chandigarh: Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon announced on Sunday that he will wear a black turban until justice is served in the case of the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota. He has started wearing the black turban to register his protest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab.

On Saturday, Dhillon joined the ongoing protest in Mansa, demanding justice for Jhota’s family. He appealed to the people of Punjab to wear black turbans, black scarves, and carry black flags to register their protest until the family receives justice. Jhota’s father, Bhim Singh, and the protesters accepted his appeal.

‘Murder of youth fighting against drug abuse shocks Punjab’

Dhillon said that a young man who raised his voice against drug abuse and tried to save the youth of Punjab from this evil was brutally murdered. This incident has deeply shocked the people of the state.

He said, “This is not just the murder of Parvinder Singh, but also the murder of law and order in Punjab.”

Dhillon said that he stands with the victim’s family as a member of their family. Accusing the state government of being insensitive and indifferent to the public’s problems, he appealed to the people to continue their peaceful protest by wearing black clothes and carrying black flags.

Called the black turban a symbol of protest

The Punjab BJP president said that the black turban is not just a piece of clothing, but a symbol of protest against the alleged failures of the AAP government. He appealed to the people of Punjab to unite and support the victim’s family.

Dhillon stated that peaceful protests and the fight for justice will continue until the family receives complete justice. He assured that the BJP stands firmly with the family and will pursue justice at every level.

Government Failed to Curb Drug Abuse: Dhillon

Dhillon alleged that instead of addressing the drug problem, the AAP government is attempting to silence those raising their voices against it. He claimed that Gulzar Singh of Toor Banjara was forced to commit suicide, followed by the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhotha.

He further stated that Bikramjit Singh of Mari Pannawan village in Gurdaspur was also murdered. Dhillon alleged that the state government has completely failed to curb drug abuse and protect the interests of Punjab.

He demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann take moral responsibility for the government’s failure and resign immediately. Dhillon warned that the people of Punjab will no longer tolerate the policies of the AAP government.
