Chandigarh: Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon has accused AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of indulging in “political drama” over protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In a post on X, Dhillon claimed that the entire process of voter-list revision in Punjab was being carried out by the Bhagwant Mann-led state government and that the Central government had no role in it.
“If the entire revision process is in the hands of your own government, then who is the Aam Aadmi Party protesting against?” Dhillon asked.
BJP Leader Targets AAP Over SIR Protests
The Punjab BJP chief alleged that Kejriwal and Mann were staging political protests despite the state government being responsible for the revision process.
He further accused the AAP leadership of attempting to mislead the people of Punjab by blaming the Centre for its own failures.
Dhillon said the people of Punjab were aware of the political developments and would teach those responsible a lesson at the appropriate time.
Dhillon Accuses AAP of Blaming Centre Unnecessarily
In his post, Dhillon maintained that the Centre was being unnecessarily blamed for issues related to the electoral roll revision in Punjab.
The BJP leader’s remarks come amid political tensions over the SIR process and protests by AAP leaders against alleged irregularities in voter-list revisions.
The AAP has raised concerns over the revision process, while the BJP has questioned the party’s protests and its allegations against the Centre.
Dhillon shared the remarks on his official X account in his capacity as Punjab BJP president.
