Chandigarh: An alleged threat email warning of bomb blasts targeting Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, the Punjab Assembly and the Ludhiana District Court has surfaced on social media, prompting concern.
According to the screenshot of the purported email, the sender claimed that explosions would take place at the Ludhiana District Court, Punjab Assembly and the Governor’s location. The message also contained threats linked to the Independence Day period and included references to banned Khalistani organisations and anti-national rhetoric.
The email further urged people to stay away from government functions and schools around August 15, while making several inflammatory statements against constitutional authorities.
The authenticity of the email has not been independently verified. There was no immediate official confirmation from Punjab Police or other security agencies at the time of filing this report.
Authorities are expected to examine the origin of the email, assess the credibility of the threat and take appropriate security measures if required.
