Chandigarh: Nihang Jasdeep Singh has been awarded a religious punishment by the Budha Dal after his alleged obscene photographs surfaced. The Budha Dal initiated disciplinary action against him, during which he was tied with chains (sangal) and caned as part of the religious punishment.
Video of Punishment Shared on Social Media
The entire disciplinary action was recorded, and the video and photographs were shared on the official social media account of Budha Dal Doaba Zone Jathedar Man Singh.
In the video, Jathedar Man Singh stated that Jasdeep Singh had earlier been awarded a religious punishment after the alleged obscene photographs surfaced. However, he had fled before completing the punishment.
He further said that Budha Dal had not granted Jasdeep Singh any pardon so far. This comes after Jasdeep Singh had earlier claimed in an interview that he had already been forgiven by the Budha Dal.
Barred from Wearing Nihang Attire Until Further Orders
According to the Budha Dal, following the religious punishment, Nihang Jasdeep Singh will not be permitted to wear the traditional Nihang attire (Baana) until further directions are issued by the senior religious leaders (Bade Babas).
Jasdeep Singh Accepts His Mistake
During the punishment, Jasdeep Singh admitted his mistake and said that he would not abandon the punishment midway again.
He stated, “If I run away from here again or fail to follow the orders of the Panth for any reason, then the Panth will not be responsible for whatever happens to me. From now on, I will follow the orders of the Bade Baba and do whatever he instructs me to do.”
