Cross-Border Gangster Link Suspected
Preliminary investigations suggest that the arms consignment was smuggled into India by anti-national elements operating from across the border in collaboration with gangster networks. The weapons were allegedly meant for targeted killings and to disturb peace and communal harmony in Punjab.
FIR Registered, Probe Underway
Police have registered an FIR and launched a detailed investigation to trace the entire smuggling network. Efforts are underway to identify local operatives, establish backward and forward linkages, and track the foreign-based handlers behind the racket.
