Jalandhar, August 19: Jalandhar Counter-Intelligence Team of Punjab Police has foiled a major terrorist conspiracy. The team has recovered 86P hand grenade used in the terrorist attack after interrogating the operatives associated with BKI (Babbar Khalsa International).
Earlier, a few days ago, the Counter Intelligence had arrested terrorist Hrithik Narolia, a resident of Rajasthan, and a minor. Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav said that acting on the information received after interrogating Hrithik and the minor, their associates were also arrested.
Of these, Vishwajeet was arrested from Kolkata when he was trying to flee to Malaysia, while Jackson was nabbed from Nakodar. On the basis of these arrests, the hand grenade could be recovered and a major terrorist incident was prevented before it could happen.

Interrogation revealed – orders were received from Canada
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that this entire module was working on the instructions of Canada-based BKI masterminds Zeeshan Akhtar and Ajay Gill. The accused Vishwajeet and Jackson had procured two hand grenades from Beas with the help of their associates in the last week of July.
Gaurav Yadav said that one of these two grenades was exploded by other members of this module at a liquor shop in SBS Nagar about 10 days ago. This makes it clear that this network was constantly trying to spread terror in the state.
The DGP said that an FIR has been registered in the case at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. He said that the Punjab Police is fully committed to root out terrorism and organized crime from the state.
