Amritsar: In a major crackdown on narcotics and illegal arms smuggling, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence wing in Amritsar has busted a cross-border smuggling module and arrested four accused.
The police recovered 27 kg of heroin, one foreign-made .30 bore PX5 pistol and three cartridges from the accused.

Dubai-Based Operative Link Under Probe
According to preliminary investigation, the accused were allegedly working in coordination with a Dubai-based operative and cross-border smugglers. They were reportedly supplying the contraband further on the instructions of the Dubai-based operative.
FIR Registered at SSOC Amritsar
An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete backward and forward linkages of the network and identify all those involved in the alleged smuggling operation.
Punjab Police said it remains committed to preventing cross-border smuggling and taking action against drug trafficking, illegal arms supply and organised criminal networks.
