Opportunities for youth in the education, health, police, and energy departments; Chief Minister says, “Hard work will now be the key.”
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab is witnessing unprecedented changes in the employment sector. So far, the state government has provided government jobs to 54,933 youth, and when combined with private and contract positions, the total employment has exceeded 1.5 lakh.
Chief Minister Mann said that this is the first time that government jobs have been awarded completely merit-based and without any recommendation. He said, “Now, there will be no bribery or lobbying in Punjab; only merit and hard work will be valued.” He appealed to the youth to serve the public with a missionary spirit.
Between 2022 and 2025, the highest number of recruitments took place in the education, health, police, and energy departments. More than 2,000 positions were filled in the Education Department, including 725 special educators. The Police Department recruited 1,746 constables, while the PSPCL hired 2,500 assistant linemen, including 837 women. The Health Department also added more than 1,000 doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff.
The Chief Minister said that providing opportunities to youth is the government’s true mission. This employment revolution is leading Punjab into a new era of honesty, self-reliance, and development.
