Punjab: A 13-year-old girl ended her life by hanging herself under suspicious circumstances in Mundiya Kalan village of Ludhiana. The deceased has been identified as 13 year old Ritu Kumari, resident of Mundiya Kalan, Ludhiana.
As soon as this information was received, the police of Mudian Kala outpost under Jamalpur police station reached the spot, took possession of the body and started investigating the case. Giving information in this regard, Mudia Kalan outpost incharge said that he had received information that the daughter of a migrant family living in a rented house in the colony of Mudia Kalan committed suicide by hanging a chunni on the Jagla built at her house.
The investigating officer said that in the statements recorded so far by the mother of the deceased, she told the police that her daughter had just passed the fifth class. He was to take admission in 6th class. Due to which he had gone to Government School Mundiya Kalan to get admission. But due to lack of Aadhar card at the spot, his admission could not be done.
Scared by this, even they did not know when his daughter came home and committed suicide. The mother told that she was sitting downstairs and talking to the landlord when during this time another child came and informed about the incident.
The investigating officer said that no suicide note etc. of any kind was recovered from the deceased. He said that it appears that the girl first went to the grill, tied her chunni and came down and hanged herself.
The rest of the police is investigating the matter in depth. He said that the body was taken into custody and sent to the government hospital for postmortem. Anything further can be said only after the post mortem report comes. He said that the police is investigating the matter in depth.
The mother of deceased Ritu told that she had three sons due to which she had adopted Ritu from her sister. He said that he wanted to educate him and make him stand on his feet. But the girl took such a step and destroyed the ground from under his feet.
