The Punjab government has taken major action in the revenue department. The government has transferred 235 officers. These include 58 tehsildars. While 177 deputy tehsildars have also been transferred. All have been transferred far away from their current work location.
As per the orders, Officers have been transferred up to 350 kilometers. The government is in no mood to back down from its decision at any level. CM has made it clear that no one will be given a license to blackmail. The recent transfer orders came amid the protest of Tehsildaars against the vigilance bureau.
Day before, Punjab government suspended 14 tehsildars over their refusal to register sales deeds. The Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation issued a notification stating that 14 tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars are placed under suspension with immediate effect.
