555th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji: Golden Temple, Nankana Sahib decorated with flowers; fireworks in night

Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev ji’s 555th Prakash Parv is being celebrated all over the world today. Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab and Nankana Sahib in Pakistan have been decorated with flowers and beautiful lights. Today, more than 3 lakh devotees are expected to visit Golden Temple and more than 1 lakh devotees are expected to visit Nankana Sahib and pay obeisance. Today’s day started with Palki Sahib.

Beautiful Jalos will be decorated in Golden Temple today. These Jalos will be decorated from 8.30 am to 12 noon and the devotees can see them. There will be fireworks in Golden Temple at night. This time keeping pollution in mind, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is going to light special kind of green crackers. In which lights will come out and there will be very little smoke. Apart from this, more than 1 lakh ghee diyas will also be lit in Golden Temple.

This year, passports of 2244 devotees were sent by SGPC for Pakistan visas But only 763 devotees got visas out of them. While the visas of 1481 devotees were rejected. This year, around 3 thousand devotees from all over India have gone to Pakistan to pay obeisance. They will visit various Gurudwaras in Pakistan including Nankana Sahib. These groups will return by 23 November.
