Drug busts in Abohar: 2 smugglers apprehends, Police recovers 2.4kg of Opium

Abohar: Abohar police have arrested two drug smugglers. 2 kg and 40 grams of opium have been recovered from the accused. The accused were bringing the opium from Rajasthan in a car. The police have registered a case against the accused.

The accused were identified as Vijaypal and Dalip Kumar. The police will soon present the accused in court and take them on remand. Disclosure is expected during interrogation.

According to the information, ASI Manjit Singh was patrolling near Defense Road, Sito Gunno Dodewala, late last evening when he searched a car coming from Rajasthan based on suspicion, and then a black object was found near the handbrake of the car.

When he asked the said youths about this, they told him that they were carrying 200 grams of opium for eating.

When the police team took it out and weighed it, it contained 2 kg and 40 grams of opium. The police arrested both of them, who were identified as Vijay Pal, son of Om Prakash, a resident of Sukhchain, and Dalip Kumar, son of Ladhuram, a resident of Sukhchain currently in Sadulshahar. The police have registered a case against both of them under Sections 18, 29, and 85 of the NDPS.
