Chandigarh: After Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, The central government gave a big blow to the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Kultar Singh Sandhwan. More than 50 legislators and speakers from India are going to this conference. This conference is to be held in America from 4th to 7th August. About 5000 MLAs from America and other countries are participating in this conference. Apart from Kultar Singh Sandhwan, speakers from Kerala and Karnataka have also not been allowed to visit the US.
It should be noted that the reason behind the denial to the Punjab assembly speaker is not known yet. The speaker reacting to the denial said that there seems to be a political agenda behind not giving the clearance for visit.
It is to be noted that earlier MEA also denied permission to Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann who wanted to go to Paris to watch the quarter-final match of hockey and cheer for team India. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann along with his wife and officers wished to go to Paris from August 3 to August 9. The main reason cited for denial is said to be Late request and security reasons.
