Investigation of 30 buildings in Ludhiana: No proper management found in basement

Ludhiana: After the deaths of students preparing for UPSC due to water logging in the basement of a coaching center in the Rajendra Nagar area of Delhi, now the Ludhiana administration has also woken up. The administration has now checked the activities going on in the basements of commercial buildings in the city.

On Tuesday, officials of the Fire Brigade Department reached the Tuition Market near Model Town. They saw the condition of the coaching centers running in the basements. The percentage of ventilation in the coaching centers was also checked. Proper arrangements were not found in the investigation. Now notices will be sent to the institutions.

Giving information, Fire Safety Officer Maninder Singh said that after the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, the basements of the city are being checked.

A report will be prepared of all those who have not made proper arrangements for fire safety or whose basements lack ventilation and will be sent to Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni through Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi.

Today, about 30 buildings have been checked. A list has been made of these due to incomplete arrangements. Soon, the district administration will issue notices to the owners of these buildings. Many basement owners have also been warned to install fire safety systems soon. There is a problem with parking in Model Town Tuition Market. If any incident like a fire occurs, the fire brigade will face a lot of trouble in extinguishing the fire.
