After Mundho Sangtian Naujwan Sabha of Jandpur village bans smoking, verification compulsory for migrant people

Mohali: After Mundho Sangtian village of Mohali district in Punjab, now a big decision has been taken regarding migrant workers in Jandpur village. The Naujwan Sabha of Jandpur village has banned smoking bidi-cigarettes and eating gutka in the village. Also, the migrant people from Bihar-UP and other states living in the village will have to get their verification done. These people will not roam in the village after 9 pm. Also, a ban has been imposed on more than two people staying in one room.

Earlier last week, a resolution was passed in the Panchayat of Mundho Sangtian village of Mohali, and the migrant people living there were ordered to leave the village.

Jandpur village comes under Kharar Municipal Council of Mohali district. Councillor of Ward-4 of the Municipal Council and member of the Naujwan Sabha of Jandpur village, Govinder Singh Cheema, said that a total of 11 rules have been made for the people of Bihar-UP and other states.

According to Cheema, the Sabha has unanimously decided that if any migrant person living in the village is found involved in any crime, then the landlord of the house in which he is living will also be held responsible for it.

Cheema said that the Naujawan Sabha has put up boards related to its new rules in the village. For the next 15 days, its members will go door to door in the village to create awareness about it. After 15 days, if anyone breaks any of these rules, he will be fined.

According to Govinder Singh Cheema, a member of the Naujawan Sabha, people who have come from other states throw garbage wherever they want in the village. He further added that they (people from other states) do not wear proper clothes. In the recent past, the incidents of crime have also increased. Keeping all these issues in mind, the Naujawan Sabha has unanimously decided some rules.

According to Cheema, just like big residential societies make rules for the people living there, the Naujawan Sabha of the village has made some rules in the same way. It is hoped that everyone will follow them.
