After train accident near Sirhind on Sunday morning, train traffic restored, commuters breathed a sigh of relief

New Sirhind: After the train accident that occurred at Madhopur near Sirhind on Sunday morning, traffic has been restored on this railway line on Monday, due to which the commuters have breathed a sigh of relief.

A large number of employees of the railway department were engaged in restoring train services. Traffic on the dedicated freight corridor has not yet started.

Employees of the Railway Department are also engaged in fixing it. According to information, a special investigation team under the leadership of Railway Safety Commissioner Dinesh Chand Deswal is arriving from Delhi on Tuesday.

It may be mentioned that this train accident took place near Madhopur in Sirhind around 3:15 am on Sunday morning. The condition of the two loco pilots Vikas Kumar and Himanshu who were injured in the accident is now said to be stable. Fortunately, there was no loss of life.

It may be mentioned that two trains were also canceled due to the disruption in the railway line, in which the Janashtabdi train to Haridwar and the train to Delhi from Amritsar had to be cancelled. The operation of these trains will start smoothly from Tuesday.

The coaches of both the freight trains affected by the accident have been removed from the lines. Overhead power lines have been brought back into operation after the lines have been repaired. However, the repair of dedicated freight corridor lines is in progress. Coal heaps are being removed from the lines.
