Chandigarh In a major breakthrough, Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab in a joint operation with Central agencies and J&K Police, has arrested 11 members of an organised criminal gang operated by Charanjit Singh alias Raju Shooter. The information about the arrest was shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on his X handle.
He further mentioned that in September 2023 the members of the arrested gang were involved in a failed attempt to loot a bank at Village Dhotian, Tarn Taran in which one police officer was critically wounded in firing by the accused persons
On April 16, 2024 associates of Raju shooter had orchestrated his escape from Civil Hospital, Tarn Taran where he was admitted for treatment. The arrested accused were involved in organised criminal activities such as attempt to murder, robbery, drug smuggling.
Along with the arrest of 11 members of Raju Shooter gang, Police have recoverd of 4 weapons (3 Pistols & a double barrel gun) along with 26 live cartridges.
