Amritsar: Employees protest at Ajnala Tehsil SDM office, demands new chambers space

Amritsar: In Ajnala of Amritsar district work has been stopped in the tehsil for 4 days in protest against the administration not providing space for chambers in the new tehsil complex built. 

Officials have completely stopped their work and staged a sit-in in front of SDM Ajnala’s office. SDM assured that chambers will be allotted to them soon.

Union Ajnala President Ajaib Singh Bhullar and Baljinder Singh Mahal said that the condition of all their offices built in the old tehsil complex is very dilapidated. During the rain on August 1, three chambers collapsed, in which no one died but there was a lot of damage to the gardeners. Ever since work started in the new tehsil complex, they have been demanding allotment of space for building chambers.

But even now they are not being allotted chambers by the administrative officials. After which they are forced to stop their work and struggle. He said that for many years they have been working in dilapidated shops and are suffering financial losses. Demands are made to the government, but no response is given.
