Amritsar: 2 cross border smugglers arrested with 29.17 lakh drug money

Amritsar: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police of Punjab has arrested two more accused in the narco-terrorism hawala racket case caught four days ago.

These accused used to send the money collected from smuggling of heroin and weapons to Pakistan through hawala. Police have also recovered an Alto car from the accused.

According to the information received, the police took action and arrested Jagannath Singh (40) of Delhi and Raj Kumar (42) of Shahabad, Haryana. Both of them were working for Pakistani smugglers since February 2024.

Both of them used to do farming and furnishing and exported to Pakistan. Along with this, the accused used to send money to Pakistan through hawala. During the investigation, the police have also recovered Rs 27 lakh from both the accused, which was raised from smuggling of arms and drugs.

Total recovery of Rs 29.17 lakh

After the arrest of both of them in this case, the total recovery of drug money has become Rs 29.17 lakh, drug 4.10 kg, two pistols, 45 live cartridges and 8 vehicles.

Earlier, the police had arrested 8 accused in this case. After investigating their links, the police is continuously making arrests. The kingpin of this entire case is Ranjeet Singh alias Raja, who has been arrested by the police.
