After the Golden Temple, now Amritsar Airport receives bomb threat

Amritsar, July 22: The chain of threatening emails in Punjab is showing no sign of stopping. After the threats received through nine emails to the Golden Temple, now the Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar has also been threatened with a bomb. This email was sent to the airport authorities yesterday (July 21).

Surprisingly, the pattern of this email is also the same as that used in the emails sent to the Golden Temple earlier. It is clear that this act is being done by the same group.

Security increased, case registered
After receiving the email, security has been tightened at the Amritsar airport. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the airport administration and the responsibility of the investigation has been entrusted to the cyber cell.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the investigation is ongoing and the accused will be caught soon.

Dark web has made investigation difficult
Investigating officers believe that it is not just one person, but an alliance or a group of technology-savvy people who are well aware of the workings of the police cyber cell.

These people are hiding their IP addresses by using the dark web, due to which they are showing locations in different countries. Earlier these emails were being sent from Outlook, now they are coming from Hotmail.

A youth in custody, but no evidence for arrest
On receiving some input during the investigation, Faridabad-based IT professional Shubham Dubey has been taken into custody. His electronic equipment (laptops, devices) is being seized and forensic examination is being done.

Shubham is an IT expert, due to which it is becoming difficult to extract evidence from his data. He has not been arrested yet, only interrogation is being conducted. If no suitable evidence is found, the police will have to release him.

Use of fake names
These emails are being sent in the names of various celebrities. The first email was in the name of the Chief Minister of Kerala, and the second in the name of the former Chief Justice of India. This is also a matter of concern for the police.

Identification will be done soon: Police Commissioner
According to Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, technical investigation is going on and it may take time. Shubham Dubey is being questioned. He claimed that the accused will be identified soon.
