Amritsar: Customs AIU staff of Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar intercepted one passenger who was coming from Sharjah by Air India IX138 in the morning of December 1. On his personal search, the passenger was found to be concealing 03 oval shaped capsules inside his rectum.
The capsules have gross weight 924 grams approx and found to be containing gold in paste form. The net weight of gold upon extraction came out to be 652 grams. The market value of the said gold is nearly Rs. 41 lakh. The same were seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962. Further investigation is under process.
