The body of a person has been found near the wall of Swaroop Rani Women’s College in Amritsar. The deceased could not be identified. The police have taken the body in its custody and started further action.

According to the information, passersby saw a body lying under a tree near the wall of Swaroop Rani Women’s College in Rani Ka Bagh, Amritsar, on Saturday morning and informed the police.

Deceased not identified 

On receiving information about the body being found, the police reached the spot and took the body into their custody. The deceased could not be identified, and no document was found near him that could help in his identification.

No suspicious object found: Police 

The Civil Lines Police Station SHO said that he had received information that a body was lying here. The age of the person was between 35 to 40 years. There was a strong smell coming from the body. No suspicious object was found near the body and even after an enquiry in the vicinity, the deceased could not be identified. The body has been sent for postmortem. He said that efforts are being made to identify the deceased.
