Amritsar: Preparations in full swing at Golden Temple ahead of First Prakash Purab of Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Amritsar: Preparations are in full swing at the Golden Temple for the first Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to be held on Wednesday in Amritsar. The Golden Temple has been decorated with hundreds of tons of flowers by more than 100 experts, while laddus of desi ghee are being prepared for the devotees’ prasad. Devotees have started arriving to celebrate the Prakash Utsav from today itself.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has started vigorous preparations for the first Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to be celebrated on September 4 in Amritsar. All the Gurudwara Sahibs located inside Sri Harmandir Sahib and Darbar Sahib are beautifully decorated with flowers. More than 100 expert artisans have come from various places including Delhi, Calcutta and Uttar Pradesh for this flower decoration, who are doing flower decoration in Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Gurbaksh Singh, Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed Bunga, Jhanda Bunga, Darshani Deori, Parikrama, all four entrance gates and Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall have been decorated with various flowers day and night.

This flower decoration service is being run by Guru Ghar’s Sevadaar Surinderpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, and for this work, more than 80 types of flowers have been ordered from various countries including Bangkok, Indonesia, Holland and New Zealand.

According to the artisans from different cities of the country, air-conditioned trucks full of flowers and decorative items have arrived here and some special types of foreign flowers have been brought by air. Devotees are delighted to see the divine view of Sri Harmandir Sahib being decorated with flowers and are seen capturing pictures of this decoration in their mobile cameras.
