Amritsar: In an unfortunate news, Madhumita, wife of MLA Amritsar North Constituency Kunwar Vijay Pratap passed away today. The sudden demise has left the family members and their close ones in shock.
Madhumita’s last rites were performed at Shivpuri near Durgiana Mandir in Amritsar. MP Gurjit Singh Aujla, DIG Satinder Singh, Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DCP Law and Order, Congress Urban President Ashwani Pappu, former Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, MLA Ajay Gupta, former MLA Sunil Dutta, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Councilor Rajkaval Lucky, Meenu Sehgal, along with many police officers, politicians and dignitaries of the city have arrived there.
In this unfortunate time, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann condoled the loss of live and prayed for the departed soul. In a post on X, CM Mann said, “We received the sad news of the sudden death of our MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap ji’s wife from Amritsar North… May God rest the departed soul in his feet… Heartfelt condolences to the family of Kunwar ji in this hour of sorrow…”

Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh is a resident of Karsghat village of Sidhavaliya block of Gopalganj. He joined Aam Aadmi Party after taking VRS from the post of IG in Punjab. Inspired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he contested the election from Amritsar North assembly seat and won.
