Arbitrariness of Amritpal supporters in Khadur Sahib, not allowing others to set up booth; threats issued

Khadoor Sahib: Political temperature has been rising ever since the entry of Khalistan promoter and Warris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh into the electoral fray. Amritpal has been contesting the election from Khadur Sahib constituency as an independent candidate.

The absence of Amritpal from the main field is not bothering supporters of Amritpal as they have been actively working on the ground level and garnering support from people. Meanwhile, it is reported that supporters of Amritpal Singh, have started acting arbitrarily. On Thursday it came to fore that Amritpal Singh’s supporters have beaten up an AAP volunteer over setting up a booth.

It is also being seen that in some constituencies of Khadoor Sahib, Amritpal Singh’s supporters are also refusing to allow other parties to set up booths. The same thing happened on Thursday.

Work was going on to set up booths in Khadur Sahib for the elections to be held on June 1. During this time, Amritpal supporters came and started saying that no other party’s booth should be set up in the village.

The matter reached to scuffle

After the incident, a debate started first between AAP volunteers and Amritpal supporters. Finally, Amritpal supporters started scuffling with AAP volunteers. Not only this, Amritpal Singh supporters also threatened the volunteers. Many volunteers have also been injured in the incident.

The incident was described as condemnable

AAP speaker condemning the incident said that act of supporters of Amritpal is condemnable and it has been criticized by all sections of the society. He added that the people of the state will give a befitting reply to this shameful act by giving priority to votes over violence.
