Baba Siddique Murder Case: Ludhiana Police, Mumbai Crime Branch nab key suspect

The Mumbai Crime Branch, in joint operation with Ludhiana police arrested a suspect in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique.

The teams of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA-2) of Ludhiana police, counter-intelligence wing of Ludhiana Police along with Mumbai crime branch carried out a raid at Bhamian Road in Mundian of Jamalpur area of Ludhiana and arrested a suspect.

CIA-2 Inspector Rajesh Kumar confirmed that the suspect, identified as Sujit Kumar Singh (33) of Masjid Galli, Kamraj Nagar, Ghatkopar, Mumbai, was located and arrested while hiding at his in-laws’ residence in the Mundian, Bhamian Road in Ludhiana.

It has been learnt that suspect Sujit Singh had transferred Rs 25,000 to another suspect, Nitin, and provided logistical support. Following the murder, he fled Mumbai and sought refuge in Ludhiana with his wife and in-laws. After his arrest, Singh was handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP – Investigation) Amandeep Singh Brar of Ludhiana stated that Inspector Sham Nair and his team from Mumbai Crime Branch worked closely with Ludhiana officers, including Inspectors Kailash and Vikramjeet from the counter-intelligence wing and CIA-2, to arrest the suspect.
