Accused of grenade attack on Batala police station arrested from Gurdaspur, case now in NIA hands

Delhi Police has arrested another accused in the grenade attack case at Kila Lal Singh police station in Batala. His arrest was made after the interrogation of terrorist Akashdeep Singh arrested from Indore. Investigation revealed that he had made arrangements for the stay of the accused of the attack on April 7.

This case is now with the NIA (National Investigation Agency). The arrested accused has been identified as Karanveer Singh, a resident of village Channake in Amritsar. Karanveer is 22 years old and has only passed 12th. He said that he was connected to the handler of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) sitting abroad through social media. From there he used to get the plan and money for the terrorist attack.

In the year 2024, he also went to a country in West Asia through the network of BKI. During interrogation, he also confessed that before the attack, he had lodged two suspects in his house, and these people had gone and thrown the grenade at the police station.

The police have already arrested his brother

Karanveer was not the only one in contact with BKI. He had also involved his brother in carrying out terrorist incidents. According to Delhi Police, Karanveer’s brother Gursevak, who was involved in this conspiracy, has already been arrested.

Operation cell will monitor

Delhi Police has formed an ‘Operation Cell’ to keep an eye on Khalistani activities, which will monitor the terrorist conspiracies being operated from abroad through social media. This cell will pay special attention to the activities going on from countries like Pakistan, Canada and will try to stop the conspiracies to lure the youth in India and push them on the path of terrorism.
