Bathinda police recover cash worth Rs 24 Lakh from vehicle driver

Dumwali: Bathinda Police during checking last night recovered cash worth Rs 24 lakh from a vehicle driver at the blockade at Dumwali village.

Police said that the person holding the cash failed to provide any satisfactory explanation for carrying such a large amount.

The cash recovered was given to Income tax authorities, added police.

In a post on X, Punjab Police while giving the details of the incident said, “Bathinda police (PS Sangat) during a nakabandi at the Doomwali village, intercepted a vehicle and recovered cash amounting to approx. ₹24 lakh. The individual in possession of the cash failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for carrying such a large sum of money. The cash has been handed over to the Income Tax authority for further necessary action.”
