Chandigarh : Leaders of Congress, Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party in various Lok Sabha constituencies left their parties and joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP claimed that AAP has got a big boost with the arrival of these leaders.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally welcomed all the leaders into the party. The Chief Minister said that with these big leaders, Aam Aadmi Party has become even stronger in Amritsar, Sangrur and Patiala Lok Sabha constituencies. He said that this time too there is a movement of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.
Aam Aadmi Party has given a big blow to Akali Dal and BSP in Amritsar.
Dalveer Kaur, who contested the 2022 assembly elections from Amritsar Central constituency under the Akali-BSP alliance, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
Dalveer Kaur was also the current constituency in-charge of BSP from Amritsar Central Assembly Constituency.
AAP has also given a big blow to Congress in Malerkotla.
Senior Congress leader and former Waqf Board member Nadeem Anwar Khan has joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Nadeem Anwar Khan is the son of former MLA Haji Anwar Ahmad Khan. He has also been a member of the working committee of Shiromani Akali Dal.
Apart from them, General Secretary of Punjab Youth Congress Shabi Khan also joined AAP. AAP MLA from Malerkotla Jamil ur Rehman was also present on this occasion.
Aam Aadmi Party has also gained strength in Patiala. Many Congress and Akali Dal leaders, councilors and former councilors joined AAP here. From Patiala: Ranjit Singh Nikra (Congress), Shammi (Ex-Councillor Congress), Ravinderpal Prince Lamba (Councillor, Akali Dal Patiala), Navneet Walia (Akali Dal) Harry Mukhmahalpur, Monty Grover (Akali Dal), Simran Grewal (Senior Vice President) Shiromani Akali Dal Patiala, Raman Dhaliwal (farmer leader Patiala) etc. joined Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday.
MLA Harmeet Singh Pathan Majra and AAP leader Harpal Juneja were present on this occasion.
