New Delhi: In a major setback to AAP, former MLA from Jalandhar Cantt Jagbir Brar has joined BJP. He joined BJP in the presence of Shehzaad Poonawala, National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, and former MLA KD Bhandari.
Before joining Aam Aadmi Party last year before the by-polls, Brar was a member of Shiromani Akali Dal for a long time. In 2022 assembly elections, Brar was the candidate of SAD from the Jalandhar Cantt seat.
Brar was not happy with the AAP leadership as he was not given any big responsibility ever since he joined AAP last year. He was also angry with party as Bibi Rajvinder Kaur Thiwada was made in charge of the Cantt area and Jagbir Brar was set aside.
Before joining BJP today, Brar has been associated with all major political parties namely AAP, SAD, Congress, PPP at some point of his political career.
