Amritsar : Some unidentified youth opened fire on workers going to the election rally of Congress candidate Gurjit Aujla in Amritsar, Punjab. In which workers have been injured. The accused obsconded from the spot after firing the bullets.
Gurjit Aujla has condemned the firing amidst the code of conduct. He has also raised questions on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and current minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal. Aujla said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) goons opened fire at the behest of Dhaliwal.
According to the information received, Gurjit Aujla was holding an election meeting in Ajnala. AAP minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal is the MLA from this constituency Ajnala. Gurjit Aujla says that when his workers came out, some youths started firing on them. During this time one of his worker got injured.
Aujla has alleged that the person who carried out the firing is a relative of Kuldeep Dhaliwal. He was threatening his workers not to leave the village and not to go for election meeting. Kuldeep Dhaliwal’s goons have opened fire on his workers.
During this period, Aujla also collected bullet shells and gave them to the police. The injured youth has suffered serious injury on his hand. After this, Congress workers started protesting against the Punjab government and police.
Aujla says how can anyone campaign in this environment. On one hand, all their workers and their weapons have been confiscated, while on the other hand, firing is being done by the ruling parties. Gurjeet Aujla is going to hold a press conference regarding this matter soon.
