Jalandhar: A bike rider died after being hit by a truck near Verka Milk Plant on the Jalandhar-Amritsar Highway, falling in the area of Station Number One of the Jalandhar district of Punjab. The deceased has been identified as Veeru Gautam’s son Kitab Singh, a Gurmohan Colony resident in Jalandhar.
The body was sent for a postmortem.
According to the information, Veeru had just filled his bike with petrol from a petrol pump located near the Verka Milk Plant. Then a truck coming from behind hit him. He died on the spot. People informed 112 police control rooms about this. On receiving the information, the SSF and police of Thana Division Number One reached the spot.
The police took the body of the deceased into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem. At the same time, the truck driver fled from the spot after the incident. At present, the police are investigating the CCTV cameras regarding this matter.
