Biker-borne miscreants harass resident doctor in Amritsar, case registered

Amritsar: The case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata has not yet settled down when another case of harassment has come to the fore.  A Female resident doctor was harassed by two bike-borne miscreants when she was heading towards her room after completing her shift at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Nanak Hospital. The resident doctor was going to her room after finishing her duty when two bike-borne youths harassed her. A complaint has been lodged with the police by the principal of Sri Guru Nanak Hospital and college. Police on the other hand is looking for the miscreants as per the complaint of the lady doctor.

The doctor who was coming back to her room got scared by this act of the youths and saved her life by running away. She told this to another doctor in the ward and the matter reached the principal of the medical college. After that, Principal Doctor Rajiv Devgan lodged a complaint with the police.

The police registered a case in this regard late at night and started raids. Police have started investigation and arrest will be made as soon as the police get trace of the miscreants. Police is trying to identify the miscreants by scanning all the CCTV cameras installed nearby.

After the Calcutta rape and murder case, the Punjab government issued a letter that if any case of molestation of a resident doctor comes to light, then the police should register a case within 6 hours. Police is showing diligence and efforts are being made to nab the miscreants.
