A BJP delegation will meet Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria today in connection with the death of more than 22 people due to the consumption of poisonous liquor in Majitha, Amritsar. This delegation will be led by Chief Sunil Jakhar. This meeting will take place today at 12:15 pm.
During this time, they will demand from the Governor that this matter be investigated seriously. BJP says that this policy of Punjab has been made due to the influence of those who make liquor policy in Delhi, due to which such situations are arising in Punjab. He said that from this point of view also it is also a matter of impartial investigation.
Sunil Jakhar says that the death due to poisonous liquor in Punjab is a serious issue. The liquor mafia which was spread in Delhi has now become active in Punjab and is sucking the blood of poor people. Sunil Jakhar said that liquor traders are getting political protection and this is the reason why such unfortunate incidents are happening continuously.
He said that the government did not learn any lesson from the liquor scandal in Sangrur and now for the second time innocent people have been killed. The BJP state president said that after losing Delhi, the AAP leadership has now reached here to loot Punjab economically.
He questioned in what capacity the Delhi leaders of this party are holding government meetings in Punjab. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will meet the Governor of Punjab in this regard and will not only demand an impartial inquiry into the liquor scandal, but will also demand an inquiry into the role of these Delhi leaders.
Sunil Jakhar has become active in politics again in the recent past. Earlier this month, when Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had a dispute over Bhakra water in Punjab-Haryana, he attended the meeting. After this, he went to Ludhiana hospital and met the people of Ferozepur who were seriously injured in the firing from Pakistan.
