Bodies of youths swept away in river recovered by Police

Jalandhar: Days after Police recovered the bodies of 3 out of 4 youths who were swept away in Beas river on Sunday from Urban Estate area of ​​Jalandhar in Punjab. These bodies were recovered by the Punjab Police team near Goindwal Sahib. All the bodies recovered have been identified as Ranjeet (19) of village Kharara, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh and Ankit (19) of village Katura.

However, the third body was also found from the same place, but it could not be identified. According to the physical condition, the said body belonged to the third companion Golu (19) resident of Sitapur. Police have sent the bodies of all three for postmortem. At the same time, the search for the fourth companion of the youths, Dheeraj (22) resident of village Katura, Sitapur is going on. All the youths lived in a rented house in Urban Estate, Jalandhar.

According to the information received, the family members of the four youths had come for immersion of the idol of Shri Krishna. During this time, four youths left the idol immersion program and went to swim about 250 meters away from the family. One by one, all of them entered the water.

But due to the strong current, all four were swept away by the river. By the time the family came to know anything, it was too late. The family immediately called the police on the spot, then the divers started searching for the children. But nothing was found. Late Thursday evening, 3 bodies were recovered. 2 were identified, and one has not been identified yet.
