24-year-old youth dies due to drug overdose in Punjab

Jalandhar: The body of a young man has been recovered from the side of a canal near Kamalpur village of Goraya in Jalandhar, Punjab. The case is being linked to murder. The police have sent the body to the civil hospital in Phillaur (Jalandhar) for postmortem.

At present, no clear information has been received on how the person died. The farmer who came to work in the field had informed the police about the entire incident. The police of Goraya is investigating the case.

Deceased Sukhpreet Singh had come to his maternal village

According to the information received, the deceased has been identified as Sukhpreet Singh alias Sukhi, son of Jagir Singh, a resident of Jajjan Khurd. Sukhi had come to his maternal village Falpota. Yesterday, i.e. on Thursday, he went missing under suspicious circumstances. After which his body was recovered in Goraya.

The police has taken the body in its custody and recovered a mobile phone. The reason for death will be clear after the postmortem. Because the police has found a few marks on the body. However, it is not clear whether the body was thrown here after the murder or it was an accident.
