Breaking: Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit tenders resignation

Chandigarh: Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has resigned from his post. Banwari Lal Purohit resigned from his post citing ‘personal reasons and other commitments.’

In letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, Banwari Lal Purohit Said, ” Due to my personal reasons and certain other commitments, I tender my resignation from the post of the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh. Please accept the same and oblige.”

About Banwari Lal Purohit

Banwari Lal Purohit is an Indian Politician and served as 29th Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh. He assumed Charge on August 29, 2021 and today he resigned from the post. Banwari Lal Purohit who is 83 years old has also served as Governor of Tamil Nadu from year 2017 to 2021 and Governor of Assam from 2016 to 2017.
