Dera Bassi: A brother killed his sister after he came to know about her love affair in EWS Colony in village Dhanas on Tuesday night. The accused brother conspired to make this murder look like a suicide. The Sarangpur police initially treated it as a suicide, but the District Crime Cell (DCC) cracked the case.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, DCC in-charge Inspector Jasminder Singh reached the spot and inspected it. Seeing the scattered goods and traces of blood there, they became suspicious. DCC arrested Lakshmi’s brother Vishal while acting in the night itself. During the interrogation conducted by the District Crime Cell, Vishal confessed his crime, and the cutter used in the murder was also recovered from him.
During interrogation, the accused Vishal revealed that Lakshmi was having an affair with a boy from her cousin’s in-laws who was married in Rewari, Haryana. After this relationship was revealed, there was a quarrel in the family. The family decided to marry Lakshmi to the same young man. However, the young man was not ready for marriage.
According to information, on Tuesday, Vishal tried to convince Lakshmi not to marry the young man, but when Lakshmi refused, there was a lot of argument between the two. Vishal killed Lakshmi with a cutter and locked the door and ran away.
Accused Vishal is a carpenter by profession and his friend Sudarshan also works with him, who is a resident of Dhanas. Between 7 pm on Tuesday, Vishal called Sudarshan and told him that he had killed Lakshmi.
