Tarn Taran: In the evening hours of 30th May 2024, vigilant BSF troops on receiving information about presence of drones along with narcotics at two different places on the border area of district Tarn Taran promptly conducted search operations in the suspected areas.
A thorough search of the anticipated dropping zones resulted in following recoveries –
a) 01 drone along with 01 packet (Gross weight- 540 Grams) of suspected ICE (methamphetamine) was recovered at about 08:10 pm from a farming field of village– C B Chand of district Tarn Taran. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow coloured adhesive tape and 01 metal wire ring was found attached with the packet.
b) 01 drone along with 01 packet (Gross weight- 520 Grams) of suspected ICE (methamphetamine) was recovered at about 10:35 pm from the outskirts of village– Kalsian of district Tarn Taran. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow-coloured adhesive tape and 01 metal wire ring was found attached with the packet.
Both the recovered drones have been identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.
Keen observation and prompt action by the diligent BSF troops on duty once again proved their commitment to plug the entry of illicit drones carrying narcotics from across the border.
