Amritsar: Yesterday on 18th April 2024, BSF intelligence wing received an information regarding the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Amritsar. BSF troops rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search operation in the suspected area.
During the search at about 07:10 pm, the troops recovered a suspected packet wrapped with white transparent packing material with a metal ring attached.
Upon opening the packing, 01 pistol without magazine was found. This recovery took place from a harvested crop field adjacent to village- Bharopal of Amritsar district.
The careful analysis of information received and meticulous study of the weapon recovery pattern in the past, by the BSF intelligence wing coupled with diligent efforts by the search party led to this significant recovery near the border area.
This underscores BSF’s unwavering commitment to foster a sense of security among the border population of Punjab.
