BSF reunites missing son with his mother in Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur: While conducting operational duties along the border, troops of the 27th Bn BSF, observed a person wandering near the border fencing. Alert troops promptly approached the area and upon questioning, came to know that the individual was mentally unsound.

Further inquiry revealed that the person hailed from Tehri, Uttarakhand. BSF personnel contacted the local police to establish communication with the Uttarakhand Police in order to inform the individual’s family. After two days, the individual’s mother, Smt. Pushpa Devi, and brother, Sh. Naveen, who had been anxiously searching for him, arrived in Gurdaspur.

 The son was finally reunited with his mother and family in the presence of the BSF and local police.

According to his mother, he has been mentally unsound for the past 10-12 years and has been receiving treatment. He had been missing for a month, prompting his family to file a missing person report and search for him diligently.

The mother expressed her gratitude to BSF personnel for their assistance in reuniting them with their son.
