Bathinda: A case of acid throwing on a married woman by her lover, who was madly in love, has come to light in Nathana town in Bathinda district.
The injured woman has been admitted to Nathana CHC. SHO Nathana Dupinder Kaur and DSP Bhucho Pravesh Chopra, besides SP D Ajay Gandhi, also reached there. The police are investigating the matter.
According to the statements recorded by the injured woman to the police, the said woman was returning home after taking her child from school. Then three youths riding bikes came on the way and threw acid on her. When they started throwing acid, the woman stepped back to protect herself, so the acid did not fall on her face but fell on her neck, stomach, and legs. Due to this, she got injured and was admitted to Nathana CHC in an injured state. The hospital informed the police station.
SHO Dupinder Kaur reached the hospital, talked to the woman, and got the details of the incident.
SHO Dupinder Kaur said that when she got the information about the incident, she reached the hospital and questioned the woman. She said that a person named Preet, a resident of the nearby village of Poohli, who had installed a bore well in their neighborhood a few months ago, threw some acid-like chemicals at the woman. We are currently investigating the matter. DSP Bhucho Pravesh Chopra, who reached Nathana, said that we are investigating the matter and threw the acid, a case will be registered against them, and they will be arrested soon.
