Fazilka: A case of Granthi molesting two minor girls who had come to pay obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib in a village in the Jalalabad area of Fazilka district has come to light. The incident occurred six days ago. The complaint has been given to the police. However, now the family has gathered the entire Panchayat and warned that if the police do not take action in this case, then a protest will be held by blocking the roads on Monday.
The incident is in Chak Jamalgarh village, Jalalabad. Two girls had gone to Gurudwara Sahib to pay obeisance. There, the Granthi molested them. After this, the girls went home and told them about it, and then the police complained about the matter. The matter is now getting serious as the complaints of the family members have not been heard. The mother of the girls informed me that her daughters go to the Guru’s house for peace, and the whole family attends the meeting every morning and evening. But the Granthi of Shri Gurudwara Sahib has done wrong things with her daughters. They are demanding strict action against the said Granthi.
She said that it had been about six to seven days since the incident. But the police did not listen to her. The woman Sarpanch’s husband, Daulat Ram, Jathedar Nihang Singh, and family members of the village have warned that if their plea is not heard, then a protest will be held by blocking the roads on Monday.
Giving information about the case, DSP AR Sharma of Jalalabad said that a case has been registered by the police in this matter. He said that various teams have been formed and raids are being conducted. The DSP said that the accused would be arrested soon.
