Chandigarh: A case of a snatching attempt by an Activa-riding woman bringing children from school in Kharar, Mohali, has come to light. Although the woman somehow managed to escape with the chain, the accused managed to escape from the spot. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera. This video is also going viral on social media.
This incident occurred on Saturday at daytime. In the video captured on camera, a woman named Seema Jain riding an Activa comes with two children at 12:30 in the afternoon. The children have their school bags with them. Two youths come behind her on a bike. A young man gets off the bike a little distance before the woman’s Activa and starts walking.
While a girl stays behind her, the young man walking on foot leaves from there. After this, he turns from a distance and tries to snatch the woman’s chain and run away, but in a hurry, he is unable to snatch the chain. At the same time, the woman riding the Activa falls. The woman is standing in the street, and other people chase him. But his other partner is standing ahead with the bike started, which helps him escape.
According to the video, the children got scared after the incident. They do not know what has happened. They say thief-thief. Hearing the voices of the children, people from other houses also come out of the street. But after that, the accused escaped from there. However, till now, police officers have avoided speaking about this.
