Centre’s notice to Punjab Governemnt on Sidhu Moosewala’s Mother pregnancy through IVF

 The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India on Wednesday sought a report from the Punjab government regarding the treatment of Charan Kaur. Charan Kaur is mother of slain singer Sidhu Moosewala who recently gave birth to a baby through IVF.

 Ministry of health quoted a news report which stated that Charan Kaur at the age of 58 gave birth to a baby through IVF. Parents of Singer welcomed their baby on March 17th, 2024.

The letter said, “Under the Section 21(g) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the age limit prescribed for a woman going under ART services is between 21-50 years. Therefore, you are requested to look into the matter and submit a report to this department of the action taken in this case as per the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021”

The letter further read that Punjab Government should look into the matter and submit a report to the ministry about the action taken in this matter under ART Act 2021.

Yesterday, Balkaur Singh, Father of Sidhu Moosewala posted a video and alleged that Punjab government is harassing them and asking to provide the documents so as to prove the legitimacy of their new-born.

Leaders of opposition shared the video and slammed Punjab Government for their action.
