Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a special advisory regarding the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Chandigarh on December 3. During this, entry of heavy vehicles from Panchkula to Chandigarh has been banned from 8 am to 5 pm to maintain security and smooth traffic system.
Traffic Inspector Ramkaran said that on this day, vehicle drivers coming from Panchkula have been advised to use Zirakpur and other alternative routes. However, there will be no ban on vehicles going towards Himachal Pradesh. If a driver wants to go from Himachal to Chandigarh via Panchkula, then he will have to travel via Zirakpur.
Similarly, heavy vehicles going from Ambala to Chandigarh via Panchkula will also use alternative routes to Zirakpur. The traffic police has appealed to the vehicle drivers to follow the prescribed guidelines so that there is no inconvenience. This step has been taken for security and traffic convenience in view of the arrival of the Prime Minister. Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory given the VVIP movement on December 2 and 3, 2024. Traffic diversions and restrictions will be imposed on these major roads.
