Checking in school buses in Mohali under Safe School Vehicle Policy in Mohali

Mohali: Under the Safe School Vehicle Policy in the district, under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, the district-level Safe School Vehicle Committee conducted an unannounced checking of school buses.

 Speaking in this regard, Mrs. Navpreet Kaur, District Child Protection Officer said that school administration must ensure compliance of school vehicles under the Punjab Safe School Vehicle Policy. Under this aim, school buses are being checked by the team.

The buses of Gurkul World School, Sector 69, Mohali were checked by Navpreet Kaur, District Child Protection Officer, Janak Raj (in-charge Traffic Education), and Education Department from the inspection team.

During this, 8 buses of Gurkul World School were checked and challans were also issued for 4 buses, during which the drivers and lady attendants of the buses were informed about the instructions of the safe school vehicle policy and the school children were informed about the traffic rules.  

The District Child Safety Officer said that this checking will be done continuously, so the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy should be fully followed by the school management.
