Counter Intelligence averted another major target killing which was planned by a terror module named Babbar Khlasa International (BKI). In a major breakthrough, CI team of Jalandhar arrested three members of the terror module BKI and thus averted the major target killing planned by this group. The information about this breakthrough has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Police arrested three members of the module, namely Jagroop Singh alias Jagga, Sukhjit Singh alias Sukha & Navpreet Singh alias Nav. Police also recovered four sophisticated weapons along with ammunition.
Preliminary investigations reveal the module was handled by USA-based Gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Nawashehria. Gopi is a close aide of Pakistan based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda, along with his associate Laadi Bakapuria, presently based in Greece.
As per police, an FIR been registered at SSOC Amritsar. Further investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages, to dismantle the whole network.
The weapons recovered by police include 4 sophisticated pistols along with ammunition. Police recovered One Glock Pistol 9MM alongwith 01 magazine and 06 Cartridges, One Pistol PX5 Storm (Berreta) 30 bore alongwith 01 magazine and 04 bullets, One country made 30 bore Pistol alongwith 01 magazine and 04 Cartridges and One country made 32 bore Pistol along with 01 magazine and 08 Cartridges.
DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police is fully committed to eradicating organised crime and maintain peace & harmony in the state.
